Frantisek Mejzlik’s Expertise I have always been curious about how things work under the hood, especially regarding computers and technology. Additionally, finding solutions to various kinds of problems comes naturally to me. Currently, I am employed as a software developer in the R&D Rail Infrastructure department at Siemens Mobility, where we prototype and develop Linux-based components for the Onboard project. I also serve as a part-time lab instructor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, where I received my Master's degree in Software Systems. During my Master's and Bachelor's studies, I spent two years exploring the field of multimedia retrieval, focusing specifically on the research of interactive video retrieval systems. We worked on a video search tool prototype, SOMHunter (please see the Projects section), which proved successful in international competitions. Generally, I am drawn to areas that I find valuable to the society. It's important for me to feel that my work has a positive impact on people. In computer science, my interests lie in complex software systems, high-performance computing, distributed systems and related areas. I aim to apply my knowledge and skills in computer science and mathematics to areas where they can make a tangible difference in the real world.
