Frederick Wylie’s Expertise AIR-4.0M Weaponeering Integration, NATOPS, and NATIP (WINN) Team Lead. Leads a multi-disciplinary team of 36 personnel in the development of Airworthiness Flight Clearances. Airworthiness is a multi-disciplinary concept requiring not only the establishment of initial (design-based) airworthiness of an aircraft system, but also the continuing airworthiness of that aircraft system throughout its life cycle. The airworthiness certification process is the backbone of naval aviation safety. Permanent flight clearances come in the form of NATOPS and NATIP or specific AIR-4.0P approved products that are determined to be equivalent to NATOPS and NATIP (e.g., F-35 Flight Series Data). The NATOPS provides standardized aircraft operating procedure limitations, technical data and training requirements necessary for safe and effective operation of the aircraft. The NATIP provides critical technical data and limitations for all weapons, weapons systems, avionics, and mission systems required for the operator to safely and effectively employ aircraft weapon and mission systems.
