Gary Austin’s Expertise I was a Senior Aerospace Technician that worked for United Space Alliance on the Space Shuttle program for the last 12 years and holding a huge amount of gratitude to be able to prepare and complete and send the last shuttle into retirement. I was SCAPE certified. I started on the Thermal Protection System (TPS) of the shuttle which included bonding thermal blankets, gap fillers and tiles on the surface of the orbiters. I later moved into a Mechanical Technician position and then Senior Mechanical Tech where I performed testing of systems related to launch and landing of space shuttle. I would perform routine tests and when required would replace and repair suspect parts and/or tiles all while adhering to all NASA instructional details and safety compliance's. I installed and removed such parts as: shuttle doors, panels and many mechanical parts. I worked with different engineering groups performing validation tests on all orbiters. I have attained a BA in Aeronautical Technical Business Management and an Aeronautical Safety Certificate from Embry Riddle and am available to utilize and apply both the degree and/or this certification to the best of my capabilities.I am a dedicated health and safety professional who has knowledge and experience in planning, implementing, and coordinating programs that require application of engineering principles and technology. These practices have helped to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions within my employers. I am a self starter who encourages others around me to inspire to be a better employee. I have a great attitude and can aspire others to emulate my work ethics.
