Gary Beikirch’s Expertise Recently retired from public school after investing 33 years into the lives of middle school students. With my new and additional free time I hope to not only continue investing time, love, and care into the lives of young people...but also am looking forward to spending more time working with my other great passion...the military and veteran community as I continue to share the message of living a life of significance. One of the "life lessons" I have felt burdened to share this year with my last 8th grade class has been that in life there is a big difference between "success" and "significance". At this point in my life as I reflect back upon all that has happened...the successes, achievements, the accomplishments that have been part of my life...these are not the most important to me. What stands out for me now...what provides that "warm", "good feeling" inside are not those times of success but rather those "moments of significance"...those moments when someone has given you a smile because you have walked with them when no one else would....those moments when you find a card or a note on your desk with the words, "Thank you"...those moments when a young lady stands at your offfice door and says, "Mr B...you many not remember me but I will never forget the time you..." At this time I am grateful for those moments when I was able to forget about myself and care for someone else...look beyond what I may have been going through at the time and see the needs of someone who was at that moment a part of my life. As we continue to live the days that have been given to us...my wish and prayer is that each of us may live a life moment by moment ....a life full of significance...a life that may find true significance as we walk hand in hand with Jesus.
