And I’ve witnessed a pattern: when we stray from our purpose and authenticity, we suffer. We become disengaged from work, doubting ourselves, and the careers we’ve built. It feels like there should be more meaning to our lives, even in the midst of enviable leadership roles, an ample salary, and a path that ticked all the right boxes. We can feel like utter imposters in spite of a successful professional career. We get stuck: unable to gain clarity on our next steps or even alleviate the sense of anxiety and dissatisfaction we feel in the moment. When we’re honest with ourselves and our fears, it becomes obvious that we have real gifts to share. When we have the confidence to build on our gifts, we’re ready to achieve clarity on our next big steps.
