Greg Alston’s Expertise Alston is responsible for the development and delivery of an enterprise-wide Mission Assurance vision, strategy and process to increase collaboration across internal and external stakeholder communities, as well as for internal training and development activities. He is a member of the Engineering and Technology Council, the Operations Council and the Performance Excellence Council. He also acts as an external contact for the Mission Assurance organization. Prior to joining Raytheon in June 2007, Alston spent more than 30 years with the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of colonel. Most recently he was a member of the Senior Executive Service as the deputy chief of Safety, and the executive director of the Air Force Safety Center. He was a command pilot with more than 2,000 flying hours in the F-4, F-16, AT-38 and F-117A. Alston served as commander, 49th Operations Support Squadron during Operation Desert Strike. Alston is a published author on the topics of safety, aviation, leadership and risk management. He is a member of the Advisory Council to the center of Aerospace Safety and Security Education (CASE), a life member of the Space and Flight Equipment Association (SAFE), and a member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigation (ISASI). Alston received a bachelor’s degree in aviation management from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a master’s degree in aviation management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He recently received a PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University.
