(Outdated but might re-write soon Written 2021) Initially I used to think this was a great way to tell people about my accomplishments/skillsets, and sure it might be but that’s not what this will be for me. I’m not going to tell you what I’ve done but rather why I’m doing & what I’m doing and the vision I follow/pursue because that truly tells you about me, not my job portfolio. I am an avid gamer who loves smiling and being happy with friends, whether online or traveling to different locations. Honestly, I’m pretty silly and goofy a wee bit of the times cus I think it’s so important to take a step back from everything and notice all the things you are blessed to have and opportunities you can embark on. Getting into the gaming industry had always been a goal of mine for obvious reasons and tbh, I was hoping one day I could be a streamer or pro esports player — don’t count me out just yet tho! However, I noticed quite quickly it wasn’t easy nor was my education really ever catered to helping me land my first opportunity. Time and time again I was advised to focus on anything but gaming given how much of an infancy stage the industry is in, but that never stopped me from reaching out, creating my own experiences, phone calls, mentors, asking the simple question “how can I help?” to people who were endemic to the industry. Eventually and might I add fairly slow and somewhat scary at times not knowing what could come next and if all I was ever doing was facing a faint dream, I traveled from Virtual Reality Innovation -> Esports -> Gaming Accessories -> Sparkling Water (Gamified) -> Gaming Partnerships. To be frank, it wasn’t easy at all and through various different connections & experiences I was able to slowly travel through these industries. Not to mention, there was a ton of people who helped me throughout the way and there is no way I woulda been able to do any of this without them so to each of them, thank you. Now to the why— I truly believe regardless of location, education, and circumstance everyone deserves an opportunity to chase their dreams, even once. That’s why I do what I do. Currently, I’m still chasing mine in hopes that one day I’ll be able to guide others and help them to create opportunities for themselves to get one step closer to their dream. (specifically in gaming/esports)
