Hannah Walker’s Expertise I am a Cape Town-based sustainability professional with over 8 years experience in the sector. Prior to joining the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, I jointly led a small team of communications experts in Cape Town where we developed international events, produced world-class publications and worked with clients globally to use all of the tools in the strategic communications arsenal to create and amplify positive change. Always eager to learn and develop, I pride myself on being able to oversee projects of all types using my broad knowledge of both digital and traditional communications pathways. While my work is mostly at a strategic level I continue to maintain a broad range of skills that help me to work with agility and effectiveness across my whole portfolio of responsibility. These include copywriting, InDesign, Illustrator, Wordpress and more, as well as broader project management and strategy development and implementation. Beyond my original role in marketing and communications, I have led RSB's engagement with the textiles and fibres sector since 2019 - building and maintaining relationships with strategic partners to enhance the impact of our best-in-class sustainability framework. Working closely with our Technical Director, I lead on development of innovative solutions for sustainability certification within complex supply chains. Today, I am Outreach & Engagement Director at RSB responsible for engaging with our diverse stakeholders, growing our membership community, and playing a role in the leadership of the organisation as it seeks to fulfil its mandate of driving a just and sustainable transformation from a fossil-fuelled world to a bio-based and circular one. I have lived, worked and studied on three continents and in 6 countries (and visited many, many more) and these experiences have helped me develop an excellent ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and in many different contexts. With an innate sense of what works, I trust my judgement, take responsibility for my decisions and am not afraid to make them!
