I have Board level experience, previously a Non-Executive Director of NHS Highland (2011-2014), after two terms as Inverness Locality Clinical Lead. I chaired NHS Highland's Area Clinical Forum, elected by my fellow clinicians, providing clinical insight to the Clinical Governance structures. I continue to sit on the Area Medical Committee and GP subcommittee of NHS Highland. I am an active BMA member. I was elected by my peers to be the Medical Secretary of Highland Local Medical Committee in 2017 - a post I held for 5 years. I am a long-standing member of the Scottish General Practitioners' Committee (SGPC) and was previously on the Executive Committee. In 2018 I was elected as the BMA GPC UK rep for Grampian, Highland, Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles for 2018-21, retaining this seat 2021-2024 and again 2024-2027. I won a seat on BMA UK council 2018-22, retaining this 2022-2026. I was elected as a North Scotland representative onto the BMA Scottish Council in 2017. In 2022 I was appointed as Chair of BMA Scotland's Council, for a 3 year term, with the possibility of then standing for a fourth and final year. British Medical Association
