I previously worked in a Warwickshire school with responsibility for the development of an entirely new alternative provision for learners with SEMH needs. This provision was described as “exceptional” and “innovative” during a 2023 SIAMS inspection. The school’s SEND support was undergoing an exciting period of expansion, which I am proud to have been a part of. During my time at the school, it was rated Ofsted “Good” in 2022 and SIAMS “Excellent” in 2023. I have experience and a passion for STEM within schools; largely influenced by my academic background in Engineering. I graduated 2:1 Hons with a BEng in Manufacturing Engineering in 2020. I took on roles of responsibility as a course representative, and managed collaborations with external companies in industrial settings. Since then, I have played a role in engaging local engineering companies with my school, to provide “STEM Days”. This is with the goal to inspire and inform children about a future in engineering. I have worked with a wide range of age groups and abilities, with ages ranging from 5-19 years old, in both mainstream and specialist environments. This includes EYFS, semi-formal and formal curriculums in SEN. I can work with confidence and ease in often challenging school environments, working to the best of my ability to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning experience for students.
