Jaco Lessing’s Expertise Summary of Distinctive Duties and Responsibilities: ✓ Investigating and or initiating disciplinary hearings. ✓ Chairing Disciplinary Hearings. ✓ Managerial training pertaining to all HR/ IR related matters. ✓ Working experience in both VIP and SAP ✓ Attending Bidvest board meetings ✓ Develop and implement the firms strategic HR plan ✓ Provide operational management and strategic direction of the HR function and all its personnel ✓ 1 of 5 EXCO members reporting directly to the CEO. ✓ Facilitating Section 197 transfers. ✓ Assist operations with daily queries. ✓ Employment Equity training and yearly submission of plans and/ or reports to the department of Labour. ✓ Designated SDF responsible for yearly WSP/ ATR reports and plans to designate SETA’s (HW, WR, CHIETA and SERVICE SETA) ✓ Appearances at the CCMA and/ or Bargaining Councils - Conciliation and/ or Arbitration proceedings. ✓ CCMA litigation including: Opposing affidavits to Condonation and/ or Rescission applications. ✓ Dealing with Grievances ✓ Counseling, Evaluation and Training ✓ Day to day advice to managers and/ or directors. ✓ Labour Court litigation from founding affidavit to heads of argument and urgent applications. ✓ Retrenchment procedures. ✓ Drafting of and/ or implementation of Recognition agreements. ✓ Wage negotiations between the Company and representative Trade Union. ✓ Strike attendances, settlements, and negotiations. ✓ Branch preparation for Department of Labour Inspections. ✓Updating of policies, and employment contracts. Policies including but not limited to: Firearm Policy Absenteeism Policy Annual Leave Policy Sexual Harassment Policy Family Responsibility and Maternity Leave Sick Leave Policy Health and Safety Policy Smoking Policy Aids Policy Joint Venture Agreement Emergency Instructions (fire hazards) Email and Electronic Communication Restraint of Trade Confidentiality Agreement Performance Management Contractor Agreement Employment Contracts Disciplinary Code Company Vehicle Policy Information Technology Policy Notwithstanding the above mentioned; any policy pertaining to Labour Related legislation. I have both educational and/ or working knowledge of the following Acts: ✓ Labour Relations Act; ✓ Basic Conditions of Employment Act; ✓ Skills Development Act; ✓ Occupational Health and Safety Act; ✓ Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Disease Act; ✓ Unemployment Insurance Act; ✓ Unemployment Contribution Act and Employment Equity Act.
