Based in one of the poorest Congressional districts in the country, Monroe is a national leader in educating first-generation students and fostering social mobility. In addition to overseeing the College’s “traditional” reputation management activities and special events, I work directly with Monroe's president, Marc Jerome, on innovative programs to improve college access, affordability, and outcomes for local students, and on policy work that advances students' best interests. I also lead the College's internal communications work and have the privilege to partner with Monroe's 900+ faculty and staff on improving their own professional communications. I joined Monroe after working on the “agency side” of corporate communications for more than 20 years, providing counsel and tactical execution services to a broad spectrum of client companies from an equally diverse array of sectors, notably within education, financial services, professional services, pharmaceutical/healthcare, and technology. I've worked with some of the largest Fortune 100 companies as well as young start-ups hoping to be counted among them one day. Prior to my current role, I held positions with STARKMAN, The MWW Group, Morgen-Walke Associates, and Bliss, Gouverneur & Associates, and served as a Board member for Children of Bellevue.
