James Morgan’s Expertise After serving a fully indentured 4 year Instrumentation apprenticeship at ICI Ltd, I have been employed as a CE&I Designer, but also have both project and commissioning engineering experience. I have several year’s experience in a lead design role and whilst employed at Kodak, I was appointed as a Commissioning Team Leader. Within the Oil and Gas Industry, I have over 25 year’s experience, including employment at Shell Refineries located at Ellesmere Port and Mossmorran, plus 3 years working on major oil installations within Saudi Arabia (Aramco in the Eastern Province and Petromin in Yanbu). I have worked on several offshore installations within the North Sea and also spent several years based in a design office in Aberdeen, working for AMEC Engineering. I have undertaken offshore surveys to investigate and implement projects such as Oil Mist Detection, Heat Tracing and Navigational Aids Systems. Whilst working on the Navigation Aids Project, I regularly attended the Manufacturers Offices (ORGA Ltd) in Schiedam, Holland on behalf of PSN. I have carried out FAT testing on behalf of Kodak at ABB Controls Ltd. I am familiar with intrinsically safe systems and I have kept abreast of the ATEX regulations since their introduction. I have worked for several major EPC companies including KBR, Costain, Wood Group/PSN and AGIP. At various times, I have been based abroad in Saudi Arabia, Italy and Slovakia. As well as working within the oil and gas industry, I have extensive experience within waste water, pharmaceutical and the Nuclear industry. I am totally comfortable working within a site-based environment and due to my hands-on background, I have always enjoyed optioneering and commissioning activities.
