Jay knew he wanted to consult full time when he realized that what he mainly did for 20+ years was: 1. Parachute into hostile territory (100+ jumps) 2. Quickly gain trust and credibility by riding a route to understand the local culture & challenges 3. Build relationships with key stakeholders and seek first to understand 4. Share observations of opportunities based on the prior 100 jumps 5. Simplify concepts enough to be successfully implemented It was the 10+ years of operations that allowed Jay the opportunity to "eat his own dogfood" as they say, and test/prove/develop the theories and concepts that today form the foundation of Rasmussen Consultants. Starting as a Route Driver in Minneapolis, with 60 routes, 85 Teamsters, and 300 employees under one roof, Jay was allowed the opportunity to work through various jobs up to General Manager of a 13M 100 person mixed laundry operation, with three locations covering most of Missouri and Oklahoma. After years of leading industry domination through taking care of employees and customers, Rasmussen has helped business after business follow this proven model to achieve proven results.
