Jayeeta Chowdhury’s Expertise Jayeeta is a development sector professional with 2 decades of experience in health, gender and intersectional issues. She is with Tata Trusts, India's oldest & largest philanthropic organisation, for more than a decade. She has conceptualized, co-designed, led and implemented various high impact health initiatives and programs on infectious diseases, malnutrition in children, tribal health in remote geographies, reproductive and sexual health, palliative care, women’s health and technology based innovations, with a focus on primary health care and health system strengthening. She publishes on public health matters in high impact journals & leading online and print mediums. She also enables in building and developing organisations from inception. Jayeeta is a founding member and part of leadership team at India Health Fund, set up by Tata Trusts, where she has been instrumental in building and enabling the Fund to transition from seed to growth-stage. Currently she heads the Fund’s program strategy, portfolio and deployment of health technology innovations to bridge gaps in infectious diseases, using design-thinking approach in linking problems and innovative sustainable solutions. She convenes policy makers, healthcare providers, implementers, academia and social entrepreneurs to solve fundamental problems. With deep experience in theory of change, impact, strategy development, program design, implementation & operational research, Jayeeta has led and driven large and high impact initiatives and programs with government, academic and non-government organisations. She has forged critical partnerships with government, bilateral organisations, private sector and civil society. Jayeeta has translated series of powerful & impactful ideas from germination stage to scale. Equity and access for disadvantaged communities have been her constant focus through different initiatives and programs she has designed and implemented. She trains & teaches public health, gender & development at national and international level & has been mentoring young interns on social impact & sustainable development. Jayeeta has multi-disciplinary background in global health with Post Graduate Degree from Royal Topical Institute, Amsterdam in Public Health; Post Graduate Degree from Delhi School of Economics and trained in Humanitarian Response from Humanitarian Academy, Harvard University. She is an avid traveler with keen interest in multi-cultural aspects, diversity & inclusion. Her interests include art appreciation and promoting green & sustainable domestic spaces.
