As the former President & CEO of the Reno-Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority (RSCVA), I partnered with the board and diverse stakeholders to provide oversight for the 5-year strategic plan, a 54M budget, operations of 5 facilities, and 9 direct and 100+ indirect reports. Throughout my tenure at the company, we surpassed sales targets (room night goals), achieved the highest room revenue in the history of the organization, and positioned Reno-Tahoe as a unique destination for business and vacation visitors. ► MY BOARD EXPERIENCE As a champion of identifying opportunities to elevate local tourism businesses, I sat on several boards and ad hoc committees including Regional Air Service Corporation, Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, Northern Nevada’s Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the U.S. Travel Association. Since 2021, I serve on the board of trustees of Reno-Tahoe International Airport Authority and work closely with airlines and executive management on strategic planning for sales, marketing, finance, and capital improvement initiatives. ► A FEW CAREER HIGHLIGHTS ✓ Introduced communication strategies that fostered communication best practices for all RSCVA employees, board of directors, destination/community stakeholders, business leaders, elected officials, and special event partners. ✓ Developed marketing, advertising, event funding, and visitor experience programs for leisure, tour and travel, convention, and sports campaigns. ✓ Instrumental in securing a 3-year contract with Safari Club International and designing an air service model to bring economic impact of 21.6M per year. ✓ Promoted the destination in the U.S. but also China, Canada, Mexico, and the U.K. ► MY HOBBIES & PASSIONS Passionate about traveling, I am a voracious reader of all kinds of books including fiction, nonfiction, autobiographies, and travel memoirs.
