  I am a life-long learner, a registered nurse and a senior lecturer in the School of Nursing at Massey University, Auckland. My research interests are in online learning, heutagogy, clinical education, interprofessional simulation and collaborative learning. I have completed a Master of Philosophy in Nursing through Massey University. My thesis focuses on the Registered Nurse’s Experience of Online Learning for Professional Development. My PhD with publications research examines productive, hybrid learning environments. I'm interested in the ecology of design for learning elements that contribute to effective learning environments. As the coordinator of the Southern Cross Hospitals’ Perioperative Nursing Course I transitioned it from face-to-face block courses to a blended delivery format incorporating; block courses, interactive online activities, webinars, in combination with preceptors in the clinical context who mentored participants as they developed their perioperative nursing skills.  During my time at Massey I have become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, am consistently nominated by students for the Albany Campus Lecturer of the Year award and submitted an award-winning, College of Health - Teaching Excellence in e-Learning portfolio. As a facilitator for ClinExPD I run professional development courses specifically for preceptors, and clinical educators to enhance clinical teaching skills. Massey University
