  I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I attended the Pennsylvania State University from 2010-2014, where I studied Childhood and Early Adolescent (Elementary) Education. I was given the opportunity to work at Glenside Elementary School in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania as well as Olive Chapel Elementary School in Apex, North Carolina. While I enjoyed working with children, my experiences teaching helped me realize that in this modern era of high-stakes standardized testing and common core standards, elementary school teaching is no longer the right fit for me. I left my teaching job in the hopes of continuing my education in the field of psychology in 2016. My dream has always been to work with children in a way that I can help them. I plan to obtain my Ph.D in Clinical/Developmental Psychology with a concentration in Play Therapy. I would like to become a play therapist, where I feel I can best help children to prevent and/ or resolve psychosocial adversity, and aid in better social integration, overall development, emotional regulation, and trauma recovery. I have plans to start graduate school next year at the University of Pennsylvania! ymca
