  Healthcare is a tough profession and one that I have been proud to be in since college, maybe even longer. One of my first memories was visiting my great Grandmother in her “nursing home”, which I later became the Administrator of after college. I was not aware of this until much later in my life talking to my Grandfather. So, I guess healthcare called me to serve. Each time things get really tough and I think about changing careers I think about all the people I have had the opportunity to help serve; residents, patients and associates. Regardless of what “I do for a living” it will have to be something that serves others and brings meaning to others lives, which in turn brings meaning to my life. I was assigned a book to read by a mentor, “It’s Your Ship”, by D. Michael Abrashoff and how he was assigned to the Navy’s worst performing ship despite having the latest technological advancements and how he and his crew turned the ship into the Navy’s best performing ship. I suppose that book taught me more about Servant Leadership and Situational Leadership than most other things. In short, it taught me to roll up your sleeves and help and that your people make the difference. That philosophy has served me well and one that I will continue to live by. Leadership Training, Development and Career Management: Preceptor (Mentor) for new Healthcare Administrators, Career Guidance and Training, Leadership Development (Servant and Situational leadership). Multi-Site Operations: Best Practices development and sharing, Relationship Management, Program Management, Executive Board Communications, Business Development, Systems Integration with new management companies. Strategic Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting: Provide business analysis, planning, and potential growth/savings plans to Executive Committee to maximize business operations.
