I have been recognized as a Human Trafficking Subject Matter Expert by the State of California, the Superior Court of Santa Clara County, the Orange County HTTF, and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office. My knowledge of Human Trafficking, its manifestations, and investigative techniques have been utilized by Cal-EMA in developing a course for Victim Service Providers to identify and respond to Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking, by California POST in developing a course for Law Enforcement Officers to identify & investigate Human Trafficking. I had the 1st Human Trafficking conviction for the SJPD in 2012. I developed the 1st Human Trafficking Investigations course for the SJPD in 2014 that was certified through the State of California POST. I was able to contribute to the project and publication “Educating Health Care Professionals on Human Trafficking” (Grace, Am, et al, Pediatric Emergency Care, November 2014). I regularly speak on trafficking awareness, its manifestations, investigative techniques, and the need for a collaborative effort in the response to the issue of Modern-day slavery. I still serve as the President of the Board of Directors for the SJPD Chaplaincy Program. In my role I oversee the board of directors and support the program’s two chaplains.
