I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Business Administration and started my career with Syngenta Crop Protection in Greensboro, NC as the charter member of their 2-year Supply Chain Leadership Development Program. I was able to rotate through the different areas of the supply chain including the planning, purchasing, plant operations, and sales departments. Since the start of my career, I have had the opportunity to gain additional experience in real estate sales, insurance sales, and financial education. I have always had a passion to give back to my community and to help others improve their quality of life. As of January 2021, I am now proud to be the first African American female to hold the seat as Mayor for the town of Knightdale. I became the first African American female to be elected to the Knightdale Town Council in 2017 and became Mayor Pro Tem in 2019. During my tenure, I have participated in numerous projects and initiatives, most recently serving as facilitator for the Knightdale Police Department’s 2020 Community Policing Forum. I have served as a liaison to the Public Safety Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Knightdale Chamber of Commerce, Passage Home Board of Directors, and the Triangle J Council of Governments. I am a proud member of World Overcomers Christian Church and the Knightdale Rotary Club and truly believe in “service above self.” In my free time, I enjoy a good dance class like Zumba or a chance to relax during yoga or reading a good book.
