Skilled in Budgeting, Government, Emergency Management, and Law Enforcement and Fire Service. Strong operations professional with a Bachelor of Business Administration focused in Personal Management from Western Michigan University and a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University focused on Human Resource Management. As village manager, inherited a 12% (140k) unrestricted reserve fund balance on August 1, 2016 and 10 internal auditing comments of deficiencies filed with the State of Michigan. After developing and implementing a multi-prong improvement action plan, the Village completed the June 30, 2021 FY with 117% (2.7M) fund balance and established it's first-ever capital asset plan, a tax stabilization fund, and a pension stabilization fund. 2021-2022 Accomplishments; Completed a 12M infrastructure project which resulted in a completely new downtown streetscapes which focused on creating place-making opportunities with the addition of of over 12 tables, 10 benches, and 100 outdoor seating opportunities within the downtown. Received 100k in MEDC and Foundation grants, along with funding 170k to complete a 270k make-over of a downtown pocket-park without the need of any General Fund tax dollars. Completed a 425k DPW building, purchased 10 acres of industrially zoned land for future growth, External auditor announced publicly that in his 22 years of experience he had not seen a financial turn-around as has occurred in the Village of Vicksburg the pst 4 years. Fund balance is in excess of 4.5M 2022-2023 financed and constructed a 2.6M new 7800 sq ft Village Hall with cashed saved over the previous 7 years. Implemented the BURG Days of Summer events over 9 weeks throughout the summer which brought over 30k people into the Village throughout the summer of 23’. Held the first SeniorBURG Day for our 55+ population and created a housing energy and efficiently grant program related to owner occupied housing based on a % of poverty level income. 2016 Western Michigan University Distinguished Alumni Award College of Arts and Sciences (Public Administration).
