Jimm Wetherbee’s Expertise 20 some odd years of library experience at Wingate University. Started as the Reference/Periodicals Librarian and am currently the Information Systems Librarian. Oversaw the library's automation project in 1989 and its automation conversion to Voyager in 1998. Work continues with maintaining the library web-site and blog (http://library.wingate.edu). Have also been involved in various aspects of the University's networking operations. This includes (but not limited to) the University's adoption of e-mail in 1996, a conversion to IMail in 2002 and a recent conversion to Google Apps in 2009. Am currently part of the team involved in migrating the University to PowerCampus. Future goals include migrating the library's website to a CMS based system. Will also participate in a similar move with the University's website. We are also planning a major upgade in the library's ILS this winter. Specialties: Apart from some knowledge of Windows, Solaris, and Linux, I have an acquaintance with MySQL, PHP, and enough XML to get an RSS feed going. Some of my work in PHP/MySQL has gone to creating a database of websites that is searchable from the library website. I've done something similar with the library's list of periodicals, which in turn is tied into EBSCO's AtoZ service. I also spend a fair bit of time in philosophy and religion (see: http://jimm-wetherbee.xanga.com/weblog/).
