Through this experience I observed the vast disparities in elder care that exist in Ontario. I soon found a working home at Christie Gardens, a progressive continuum of care home, where I developed my skills of leadership, management, and advocacy for person-centered care. Recently, I was working casually at the Wellington Terrace Long-Term Care Home in Fergus, Ontario and really enjoyed maintaining a connection to the elders who live there, their family members and the team who care for them. I joined the Board of Directors for North Wellington Health Care in December 2021 where I am learning from experienced leaders and contributing to the governance of hospitals in my local area. Now, I have joined the amazing team at The Elliott Community in Guelph, Ontario and look forward to contributing to this established, continuum of care seniors community. I am excited to begin the new role of Quality Improvement and Risk Management Resource Nurse. About the MHLP Senior's Care Program: The Master of Health Leadership and Policy in Seniors Care is a Professional Masters Program with the aim to equip healthcare professionals with in-depth practical leadership skills and technical knowledge to improve and deliver comprehensive healthcare services for the Canadian population.
