John Callaghan’s Expertise I am an iOS and Android mobile developer with over 8 years experience creating award winning digital content and software for technology, finance, media and publishing companies. I am currently leading a team in HMH developing e-learning applications in iOS (Objective-C / Swift), Android (Java) and HTML5, for desktop and mobile platforms. Before HMH I was the lead iOS / Mobile and Flash/AS3 developer for “Secret Location” in Toronto, an Emmy award wining Interactive Media Production company specializing in online design, content production, experience design, animation and motion graphics. Whilst there I built the mobile music sharing platform Herd.Fm. Previous to this I was a founding partner of the Irish new media production companies MercuryBoy and MercuryGirl (now Mercury Digital). I have a degree in Business Information Systems from UCC and a Masters in Multimedia Systems from Trinity College Dublin. I have lectured at the Centre for Computational Musicology and Computer Music in the University of Limerick. From 2000-2005 I also worked as a systems developer for JP Morgan, Snow Hydro Energy Trading, KPMG, O2 Ireland and Ulster Bank amongst others. My interests include documentary film, interactive & transmedia storytelling, mobile applications, generative visuals for music and physical computing..
