  A little back ground about me: I graduated from high school during the last century and after playing a little football at a unknown school in Louisiana (LSU), I finally finished up my Associate of Arts degree from Nichols State University. I then went into the Louisiana Army National Guard and started my first career job with the Lafayette City Police Department, Lafayette, LA. While at the Department, working full-time on shift work and raising a young family (along with being in the Guard) I finished my Bachelors and Master’s degree. I left the Department and went into the oil-field to develop my career and provide for my family. I got to visit some exotic locations: Angola, Congo, Australia, and the Gulf of Mexico. But, along with success, come the downside, the oil economy and my family needs. I took a position with the local government dealing with environmental issues and later moved over to the Lafayette Fire Department as the Chief of Administrative Services. In 1998, I left the Fire Service and began my education career with secondary schools-mostly inter-city schools. As my wife’s company transferred us to Houston in 2006, I began teaching in drug treatment centers for juveniles and with Lone Star College-Kingwood. During this time I also completed a Specialist in Education degree from Northwestern State University. As you can tell, I am a strong supporter of education and continuous training for individuals. In addition, I strongly support the Distance Learning to enable all individuals to continue their education and careers. The Lone Star College System is very pro-active in developing these programs and I am grateful to be part of this process. Lone Star College
