In 2006, I transferred to the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs and headed a team that provided various research products for the Secretary of Defense and other senior Pentagon leaders as preparation for their testimony and engagements with Members of Congress. Communication with audiences is a consistent theme in my careers as a Teacher, Historian, Writer, Fact-Checking Director for Presidential speeches and Director for legislative support helping facilitate senior DoD engagements with Congress.
