John Ivers’s Expertise During my career I have served as a public school teacher, professor, department chair, associate dean, and college dean. For many years now I have taught International Studies 300 (Cultural Paradigms), a course on deep cross-cultural differences. I wrote a textbook for the course (free for my students) which I have also self-published on barnesandnoble.com. For most of my career I have taught courses on International Studies, Spanish, teaching methodology for World Languages, and TESOL. I was the course lead over two online courses (which I created) dealing with TESOL teaching methodology. As a department chair, associate dean, and college dean, I have been heavily involved in general accreditation and education accreditation matters. Besides my recent book, during my career so far I have 16 academic publications, including a book chapter for an educational psychology book, and presented at academic conferences or organizations 37 times including three keynote speeches. Since 1979, I have been married to the former Connie Lynn Laird (who works as a Kindergarten teacher) and we have 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
