An opportunity came up to fill a position in Rabaul PNG, where I stayed until 1998, unfortunately this was at the time of the drought and the downturn in the hardwood industry, so I was amongst a large number of expats who were eventually repatriated due to cost cutting in 1999. I have been working in the Ag industry since 1999, in the roles of machinery sales and branch manager. I am excited about the opportunities for young professionals that new technologies present within the industry, and the scope of knowledge that will be required to keep pace with the changes. Agriculture will always be our main primary industry and education of its importance in our nations economy is something that I believe needs continuous focus.
