During the first half of my career I worked as a water quality specialist, leading a team reporting on compliance with EU environmental legislation, with particular expertise in bathing water quality. I am an experienced project and programme manager, with extensive experience in bidding for and using EU funding for research (through the Framework Programmes), and improved environmental management (INTERREG and LIFE+ programmes). I have a strong interest in using evidence to understand the effectiveness of different approaches to environmental regulation, including using quasi-regulatory approaches to achieve good environmental outcomes. My current role as an Evaluation specialist and the circumstances of EU Exit make for interesting times!
