My journey started at 15, seeking a way to support myself when I became 16 and eligible to move out from the comfort of my family home and start life as an independent teen wanting to discover and control his own path. I was able to finish my education, top of my class at both my vocational training school where I learned precision machining skills and at my host high school. I did this while holding a full-time job in an aerospace machine shop. It was in those first few years and when I took home a bronze medal from the National SkillsUSA Vocational Trades Competition, that I discovered machining, engineering, and fabrication just came natural to me. The best part was I enjoyed the heck out of it! -- Over these 21+ years, I have been an Operator, CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Manager, Senior NC Programmer, Lead Manufacturing Engineer, College Educator and Public Speaker for Manufacturing. When I decided to make Manufacturing my career, I made it my passion! In 2023 I will have accumulated over 60,000 hours of experience while wearing many hats in manufacturing. In addition to the previously mentioned roles, I have also been a manufacturing and process engineer, compression mold designer, purchaser, planner, and most recently a hardware prototype engineer. I have run or participated in the management of machine shops that specialized in medical devices and implants, aerospace, and the broad reach that is a general job shop. -- I spent the last 7 years learning and living the culture of Microsoft inside their Hardware Prototyping Center and for many of those, I grew and managed a fast-paced group of prototype machinist while simultaneously helping managed the engineering focused workload of the whole center. It was the beginning of 2023 when I started planning for the likelihood my role at Microsoft could get eliminated during the mass tech layoffs. Instead of waiting for the possible, I decided to volunteer for the layoffs and started planning the launch of Novo Modo! -- In today’s fast-paced, ever-changing, high-tech world, you need to have the best on your team.
