He has introduced a trainee “confession session” – a monthly meeting of trainees to discuss the narrative behind adverse incidents to learn the lessons behind error, help prevent “second victim” and support ongoing best practice amongst the trainee body. His academic and clinical work has been presented at International conferences in Palm Springs, California, US and Brussels, Belgium as well as at national burns and research meetings in the UK. He is the recipient of a PhD studentship and small grants for his research studies from the Westminster Medical Schools Charity. He is the winner of the RSM Section of Anaesthesia Trainee Essay Prize 2012, the Cheyne Edmunds Prize in Surgery and the GKT Rugby Scholarship from King’s College London 2013, and the South East Thames School of Anaesthesia (SETSA) Trainee Prize 2017.
