  My path in live has been a winding journey with ups and downs that has allowed me to have a wealth of experiences that I can apply to many different types of work related problems. There are two main sources of these experiences Work and Education. When I started my educational career I was a headstrong 18-year-old that was determined to become a doctor. After my first two semesters of college I had to learn the hard way that talent can only get you so far, and I found myself back home at community college. This was the defining moment of my life as a person. I worked my way back up from community college to Rider University, and then realized after a 4 month job search that I needed to go back to school to explore an opportunity in data analysis. Right now I am currently in Drexel University’s Business Analytics program and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. While at Drexel I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and skills that I can apply to numerous business scenarios. The other large source of experience that I have is from my working career. All throughout my journey through college I worked while going to school. Sometimes part time, sometimes full time depending on the school workload that I had at the current time. A large take away from these experiences is the importance of fit and human interaction in different work environments. Just because certain people struggle in a certain environment does not mean that they are a failure, rather that they are in the wrong fit. Most importantly is the effect that teamwork can have on any type of scenario, as very often a cohesive team will be greater then the sum of their parts. While my journey has been far from traditional, it has taught me things that I would have never learned if I had a traditional college and work experience. I believe that these attributes give me a different outlook then most people and is my defining edge as a professional. Hartford Funds
