  It's hard to believe it's been roughly 9 years now since I made an unexpected switch to coding. Having acquired a degree in business and entrepreneurship, but with zero initial interest or exposure to software engineering, it was a transition that took even me by surprise. Yet here I am, more than half a decade deeper into a vocation that began with a "boot-camp" and some encouragement from a friend, and I can confidently say that my excitement and interest in what I do only keeps growing. This all makes sense in retrospect, as I see now how the same passions that have always driven me are so readily manifest in software: The insatiable curiosity and desire to learn, the satisfaction of puzzling out an elegant solution, the creative empowerment of being able to build something amazing. The pieces are all there. Since starting my journey, I've taken on various projects in diverse industries, from constructing a billing system for a renewable energy company to leading teams in building social impact applications. Along the way, I've worn multiple hats not typically donned in software engineering, including product planning, business development, customer outreach, and developer hiring/training. While the challenges that come with this field are often humbling and daunting, I'm grateful and excited to have the privilege of working towards a laudable mission alongside a motivated team. Coding's not where I began my vocation nor is it where I think I'll end it (I'm still holding out for arm-chair philosopher) but I'm eager to do some good with it while I'm there! Eagle Venture Fund
