My personal opinion about EMS is it needs to head away from a "hero" mentality and realize we are not "hero's" but more facilitators of the combined effort of many people. I entered the field, not for people to thank me, only to challenge myself in an environment that is ever changing. I'm overly honest and unapologetic, not to be difficult but to help craft the skills of the person whom one day may take care of my family member in their toughest time. Education starts with ourselves. There is nothing more humbling than realizing you're the dumbest person in the room...
