  Since my graduation from Mercyhurst University I have had many wonderful experiences as a teacher. Each year my class has pleasantly surprised me with their ability to develop as young scholars.   I believe in creating a caring, safe and accepting environment for children to flourish in while they learn and build relationships. I strive to challenge students and set high expectations in a supportive academic setting. In my classroom I consistently model the skills students need to solve problems, communicate effectively and work creatively with others. I utilize families and the local community for collaboration and support to enrich the lives of our children. It is my commitment to create an enhanced learning experience for all those involved. To create a successful and caring learning environment I dedicate much of my time to meaningful planning, developing and presenting organized learning opportunities for students in alignment with Common Core and State standards (National Curriculum in UK). Much of my success has come from use of data driven instruction to gauge student's learning while maintaining an engaging classroom environment, coupled with established high standards for academics and behavior.
