Systems, Technical Services Virginia, where I developed and implemented a safety program guide that works as a safety checklist for supervisor oversight as well as a compliance checklist for the production supervisors on the deck plates. All previous employment mentioned follows 22 years of active duty service in the U.S. Navy. I began my naval career in 1994, completing recruit training at Great Lakes and Damage Controlman training at Treasure Island. During my career I served on three ships, USS STUMP (DD-978), USS MAHAN (DDG-72) and USS CARR (FFG-52). I also served at shore commands, Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Center for Naval Engineering Norfolk - Damage Control and Firefighting School, Camp Lemonnier Djibouti, and the Naval Safety Center. I rose through the ranks quickly from E-3 to E-6 at my first command and then being selected for Chief Petty Officer at seven years and continuing in that leadership position for the remaining 15 years of my career. Prior to my Navy career I served as a Legislative Assistant with a Washington, DC public affairs firm. I was also a volunteer firefighter and EMT in Fairfax County Virginia for 7 years.
