I am the founder of Cynthean Capital, an investment advisory firm that specializes in helping churches/non-profits put there donations money to work rather than sitting idle in the bank collecting no interest. Growing up in the church and still attending, I realized that these organizations aren’t investing there donations wisely and that can prevent growth. This was concerning, according to research from the MIT Sloan School of Management, only 11.2% of nonprofits hold investment accounts. That means nearly 90% of nonprofits aren’t putting their funds to work and are hampering their ability to achieve their mission. With the current inflation rate, for most nonprofits with cash in a simple savings account, these funds are actively losing value. My mission is to connect and advise many of these organizations as possible so churches/non-profits are not impacted by higher cost and a volatile economy. Churches are normally scared to invest the money they receive from donations but remember, not investing to keep up with inflation is worst than having money just sit.
