  My name is KaJuan E. Willis. I am originally from Washington, D.C. Growing up in D.C., I quickly learned that my environment in which I grew up in sparked my passion around mental health and helped me to understand how vital it is within minority groups. In May of 2019, I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a minor in counseling. Throughout my years in my undergraduate career, I have had the opportunity to network, meet new people, build upon my experiences and was actively involved on campus and in the community. Today, I stand as a Master’s Candidate in the Counselor Education Program with a Clinical Mental Health Counseling track at The University of Toledo. In addition to this, I am also a currently a graduate assistant, where I am able to use and display my skills in efforts to network, collaborate and build meaningful relationships with students, faculty and staff. Within a year span, I will have completed my necessary coursework to earn my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and plan to work within communities with minority populations. Ideally, I plan to use my knowledge and skills to open and launch a more affordable private practice to different minority populations suffering from mental health disorders. I plan to achieve this by continuing to network and be introduced to new opportunities and resources where I am not only able to use my skills, but where I can learn more and continue to grow personally, academically and professionally.
