Kate Leeming’s Expertise As an explorer/adventurer, I have cycled the equivalent of twice around the world at the Equator. My second book, NJINGA, Breaking the Cycle in Africa, was published in Oct'14. NJINGA, the feature doc. won Best Documentary, Best Cinematography and was r/up for Best Director at Action on Film Int Fest, LA. A 10x30min TV series is being cut. I am now preparing for BREAKING THE CYCLE SOUTH POLE. In Nov/ Dec/Jan 2016-17 I aim to make the first to cycle across the Antarctic continent via the South Pole I will be combining my passion and skills for expedition cycling with philanthropy and education. In response to firsthand experiences during my African expedition, I am joining the fight against HIV/AIDS. My South Pole venture will be used to raise money in support of The Global Fund, which finances medical and educational programs targeting HIV-related diseases.100% of the funds will be channelled to AIDS projects in Africa via (RED) and Charity Miles. We will also run a leadership education program My world-class team of Eric Philips, Claudio von Planta and Phil Coates ensures the best chance of success and that the story is documented and communicated in a thoroughly engaging and meaningful way. We are developing some innovations including the world's only AWD fatbike (Christini Technologies) BBC World News would like to show a series of up to 6 parts (80 million weekly viewers) Sponsors so far include Australian Geographic, World Expeditions, Aldersley Capital, Mont Australia, Christini Technologies, Wilderness Wear and more.
