Keith Fortowsky’s Expertise I am generally perceived as a "Data Geek" (or 'Heek' to my Dutch friends). But I have been "in remission" for at least a decade ... And, in my opinion at least, I can be quite engaging in conversation. Admittedly I often end up talking about "collaborative sense making" ... usually involving data visualization. My current intellectual obsession is Participatory Narrative Inquiry, and enabling it through StoryConnect (https://storyconnect.nl/storycycle/?lang=en ) I am currently Director of Institutional Research at the University of Regina (Canada). I specialize in making data accessible for "strategic conversation", and my primary tools for this are Tableau (power-user since v2.1 in late 2006), Kimball DataWarehouse training and, more recently (since summer 2016, v11) IBM Cognos Analytics and Infosphere toolsets. In 2004, after 20 years as a freight transportation economist with the Government of Saskatchewan and then Wilbur Smith Associates, I completed an MSc in "Agricultural & Applied Economics" at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
