  I am graduating Cum Laude in May 2011 with my Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. I was also chosen as the Dean's Award Nominee for the Family and Consumer Sciences Department. I begin the two-semester Single Subject Credential Program in the Fall of 2011. I am very passionate about what I do and hope to inspire people to follow in my path. I am dedicated and take pride in furthering awareness and revitalization of the pre-credential concentration within Family and Consumer Sciences department. I am a member of HETAC (Home Economics Teachers Association of California) and SCTA (Student California Teachers Association). I am very active within California Association FHA-HERO and have attended several region 4 meetings and Chaired the Culinary Arts Display CRE at the Region 4 spring meeting. I also attended the State Leadership Meeting this year and look forward to attending the National FCCLA Leadership conference in Anaheim this July. I am interested in teaching Culinary Arts, Child Development, Fashion Design, Interior Design, or Life Skills. One of my career goals is to create a Life Skills curriculum for the revitalization of the class within the school I will work for. High school students are missing out on learning important life skills such as budgeting, cooking, sewing, laundry, ironing, balancing a checkbook, and many more skills important to their future.
