In May 2004, I was appointed Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman, Westfield Group Limited. My duties covered elements of both the business and private areas of the Chairman’s activities, with multi discipline staff, projects, budgets, operations and administrative responsibilities globally. Specifically, I had management and co-ordination responsibility for the Chairman’s Office, Westfield Aviation in Australia and the United States, and residences and staff in Los Angeles, New York, Tel Aviv and Sydney. My role included recruitment and remuneration contract negotiation across these areas. My responsibilities also included administrative aspects of private building projects in Sydney and Tel Aviv, and a super yacht purchase. The super yacht purchase included shipping the yacht to Australia, refit shipyard contract negotiation and co-ordination, crew recruitment and contract negotiation, crew refit accommodation for 15 months, budget reporting, berthing facilities contract negotiation, and ongoing hospitality and catering arrangements. My role also involved accompanying and managing the Chairman’s extensive travel commitments on both Westfield and Football Federation Australia related activities, and drafting and replying to correspondence on his behalf. I also managed Westfield’s executive catering and hospitality staff, and the Chairman’s driver. 2006 FIFA World Cup, Germany: Management and coordination of the Chairman’s involvement in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. This involved close liaison with the FIFA officials, the German local organizing committees and venue managers, and Football Federation Australia. I was responsible for all logistical arrangements with both private and commercial aircraft and airfield staff, ground transport contractors and accommodation suppliers. This project involved 72 days of continuous international travel.Governors-General served: Sir William Deane AC, KBE, Dr Peter Hollingworth AC, OBE, and Major General Michael Jeffery AC, CVO, MC. The responsibilities of the Senior Advisor to the Governor-General included the management of the Executive Branch, which employed 34 executive staff. Responsibilities: • Provided direct support to successive Governors-General through the full logistic, operational and strategic planning and implementation of Their Excellencies forward program of national and international engagements. • Drafting and responding to correspondence on behalf of the Governor-General. • relationship management of approximately 200 philanthropic and not for profit organizations, management of Admiralty House, Sydney and Government House, Canberra operations (catering and hospitality), liaison with national and international organisations, foreign Governments, Heads of State, Royalty, private enterprises, VIPS, national security and intelligence agencies, and the Australian Federal Police. • Management of bills for Royal Assent, provision of policy advice, media advice, speeches, oral and written briefs, replies to representations from the public, and the provision of air and land transport services. • Budget development and management. • Contract negotiation and management. • Risk Management and Business Continuity Management. • Human Resource Management. • Business Planning and implementation. • Organisational Restructure Management. • Federal Senate Estimates Committee Hearings attendance. • Represent the Governor-General at official activities. • Extensive domestic and international travel with the Governor-General.
