Krishnamraju Ankireddy’s Expertise I am a passionate materials engineer with more than ten years of research experience in developing functional materials for specific applications. Throughout my career, I was fortunate enough to work on a broad range of materials that were utilized for various projects. Some of the examples include the synthesis of silver, copper, and zinc oxide nanoparticles and their suspension-based formulations for printed electronics applications; paste formulations of silver, copper, and nickel for printed thermo-electric applications; solution-based formulations for thin-film perovskite solar cells; thick film copper paste formulations for silicon solar cell metallization Material Characterization: As a materials engineer, I am always curious to understand the structure-property relationship. I analyzed the microstructure, optical, electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties of the materials using X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-visible spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and adhesion tests Formulations: I prepared suspensions and solution-based formulations, and thick film paste formulations using aqueous and non-aqueous solvents, stabilizers, and surfactants; and techniques used for preparing the formulations were centrifugation, vortex mixing, sonication, powder mixing, three-roll milling and screening Formulation-characterization: Each formulation was used for a specific application which required understanding viscosity, stability of the suspensions, sedimentation rate, shelf-life, paste rheology, thixotropy, fineness of grind gauge (FOG) Device fabrication: As part of testing the materials for product development, I used several deposition and printing techniques which include screen printing, ink-jet printing, aerosol jet, spray coating, spin coating, slot-die coating, wet and dry surface modification techniques, thermal evaporation, molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), thermal sintering, photonic sintering-intense pulsed light (IPL) and high temperature industrial solar cell belt furnace Device Characterization: I characterized printed electronic devices, thin-films based solar cells, and silicon solar cells with different techniques which include four-point probe systems, I-V characteristics of solar cells, electroluminescence (EL), optical microscope, and peel tests, etc. I am a self-starter and always curious to learn new concepts. As a result, I was able to publish more than 15 internationally recognized scientific journals and a patent from collaborative projects
