Kwafo Ofori-Boateng’s Expertise I am an internationally recognized leader of enterprise-wide digital transformations, business model transformations, and pioneering digital solutions that cut cost, grow revenue and increase market share maximizing competitive performance through innovation and a flexible, multi-disciplinary approach. Having worked across North America, the Middle East, UK, South America, Africa and Europe, I have engaged in both rapidly emerging markets and in the reinvention of legacy models through innovation. I now bring this expertise to Australia in my role as IBM’s VP and Senior Partner for Financial Services Sector, and my connection to Australian business communities, where my focus on collaborative innovation helps shapers of organizations to solve first-of-a-kind business challenges, solve ‘burning platform’ problems with new solutions, and ensure companies stay relevant in rapidly changing environments. Some successes in business turnaround and/or digital transformations: 1. Designed and led the business architecture to transform the largest bank in Turkey 2. Responsibility for a 100MUSD banking transformation in Australia 3. Global strategy and sales of front office (digital) transformation for a major multi-national 4. Technology strategy & business architecture for a major US superannuation fund Communicating and strategizing the ‘art of the possible’, I thrive on tackling completely new business challenges, bringing simplicity to the complex, and contributing to a ‘can-do’ culture where people say ‘Yes, and…’. Connecting ideation to execution, I am focused on aligning market-reportable business outcomes and KPI achievement, with a keen eye on customer metrics to assess retention and profitability. My strong leadership in the areas of strategic change and innovation positions me to contribute my expertise in the governance of rapidly shifting business environments. This including my knowledge of regulatory requirements and technology risk. As a multicultural professional whose work is grounded in the values of kindness and respect, I bring sensitivity to diverse perspectives. More recently, I was a co-author of IBM's 2023 Global Banking Outlook, was invited to speak at the Trans-Tasman ESG Conference in 2023 and I lecture annually at the University of Western Ontario, Canada on a variety of business topics for MBA candidates. My commentary includes the importance of pairing new technology with business model innovation, and how FinTech and global examples can be applied in business transformation across business sectors.
