I have always been analytical and detail-oriented and found that these changes had opened up a whole new field to me: Library Science. After nearly three years, I had procured an MLIS degree and love to assist others in what I have found I have a latent talent for--the research process and the fundamentals of research writing. In my current position as librarian and middle school teacher, I have been instrumental in innovating technology use in the acquisition of a Chromebook cart for mobile technology access between all middle school classrooms, implementation of digital literacy curriculum and project-based curriculum. My innovation in using Google Classroom for my courses during inclement weather days led to a smooth transition to online education during the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders in spring of 2020. I also developed a simple digital guide for younger students to use for submitting homework online during that phase of educational chaos.
