This learning journey has taken me on an interesting journey from a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems and Cybersecurity, to a call center while finishing my degree, to banking, to coming full circle to looking for a job in the IT field. Changing jobs is a big decision, changing careers is a MASSIVE decision. Recently that learning journey has taken me to learning Python, Data Science, Data Analytics and that has ignited my passion once more for the IT field. The call center was a great experience in communication and patience with getting to the bottom of a customer’s concern or issue. The banking industry, Treasury Management Support specifically, has certainly taught me interdepartmental communication, troubleshooting, and the joy of having a project that I work with the owner of to bring to completion in a program such as PowerApps. I love to have a problem and find the solution to said problem. Even if I don’t know if it’s doable I’ll do everything in my power to make it happen for the user. I was working with another department’s manager on creating an App in PowerApps that would allow the branches to have a single place to go to to provide their monthly checklists. The manager wanted to be able to only allow certain people to access the checklists, so if you were from this branch and were also a specific title only then could you access the monthly checklist that was provided. I told the manager I’m not sure if I can, but let me play with the program, let me learn more about what it can do, and I’ll see. I was able to provide the manager with the requested ability.
