I have been working for The Australian Centre For Grief and Bereavement as the Regional Specialist in the Barwon South West for the past 2+ years based in Geelong. Recently, the Centre recognised that the Geelong base was not as accessible for those living in Warrnambool and surrounds. In early 2015, the Centre began working towards securing a location/base from which to offer counselling and support services in Warrnambool. This position is a part time role (15 h/week) and I work with children (7yrs +), young people and adults who have experienced a bereavement and require extra support to manage this experience and its impact on their life. I work from a constructivist model, influenced strongly by the research of Robert A. Neimeyer and the powerful 'meaning making' approach to loss.
