  In my former life I was a Genie but decided that a career change was necessary when the excitement of living in a lamp wore off. My career as a Genie took many twists and turns. A year later, after a slight cock up with immigration, I found myself washed up on the banks of the River Thames, with only a dollar to my name and a slight Australian twang. After pounding the streets of London (not easy when you’re inside a lamp) I was rubbed up the right way by BurkittDDB who recognised my talents and immediately set me to work on John Lewis, Peroni, Schwarzkopf and Hasbro. I've rubbed shoulders with some of the most talented creatives in the business, I sure know my ABC1’s from my FMCG’s whether ‘above, through or below’ the line. My second wish came true when I left London and stumbled head first into the world of Digital in the West Country, where I worked for an agency who will remain Nameless as their New Business Account Director. I learnt to speak techie and unearthed opportunities that only a deep sea diver could find. I’ve written more new business proposals than had hot dinners. Between then and now, I metamorphosed into a Communications-Consultant-of-Sorts, where I divide my time creating new digital platforms (Squarespace), developing brand identities, crafting copy, devising new marketing strategies, formulating successful campaigns, website editing, content creation and recommending the best digital marketing tools for clients to engage with different audiences, using the right mix of digital tools to achieve this. In 2016, we relocated to Norfolk (the County where I was born) and we now live in a blue cottage in the woods. Immersed in nature with a hundred acre woodland on our doorstep, I feel incredibly blessed to watch our two children grow up in such a beautiful natural setting. My third wish is to achieve that ever elusive work : life : balance as I strive to find a role that provides me with a great sense of purpose, where I can apply my creative marketing skills and ideas to help influence action and create change, in a positive way.
