She is a global business leader with a unique combination of strategic and execution skills, including product, market and brand development, financial, operations, risk management, and talent development. Having worked in nearly 100 countries, she has developed strategic relationships with commercial, governmental and military partners across multiple industries. In GE Distributed Power, she launched a new 2B service franchise, developed world-class, competitive products, and expanded GE’s global footprint to emerging markets, establishing GE as the leader in distributed generation, bringing power to communities around the world. As President and CEO, GE Aviation Systems, she led the integration, performance turnaround and dramatic cultural transformation of Smith's Aerospace within 18 months of acquisition. She pioneered the first-ever U.S. joint venture with a Chinese state-owned enterprise, negotiating a highly complex customer environment, including U.S. and Chinese government stakeholders. With a vision to penetrate new markets, she built a state-of-the-art electrical power development lab through a public-private partnership with the University of Dayton, leading to technology breakthroughs and new commercial wins. As a career-long developer of people and corporate brand, she created ground-breaking initiatives in talent development and sustainability. Most recently, she launched GE’s Corporate Accelerated Leadership Program (XLP), a company-wide executive talent development program including curriculum, stretch assignments, and mentoring for the next generation of leaders. She launched "Balance the Equation," GE's initiative to attract and retain STEM female talent. As President of Ecomagination, she executed GE’s environmental sustainability strategy, lowering emissions and energy use by 20%, launching 40 products and growing revenues by 20B. She is a Trustee and Audit Committee Chair of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, a Corporator of Sugar River Bank, a Trustee of Lake Sunapee Protective Association, and active community volunteer. She is the chair of Sensata’s comp committee and an audit committee member.
